How Kofoid’s Streak Stacks Up Against the Legends

Kofoid, at 24, just became the first driver ever to win three consecutive World of Outlaws races at I-55. It’s also his first personal three-race win streak with the series (including the win at 81 Speedway before the Easter break). Roth Motorsports hadn’t seen a three-race streak since Danny Lasoski in March 2000.
At I-55 specifically:
• Craig Dollansky had three straight Ironman 55 wins (2011-2013) — the closest parallel, but those were the big annual event, not regular weekend shows.
• Sheldon Haudenschild was nearly untouchable from 2019-2021 with four wins in nine starts.
• Brad Sweet holds the most WoO wins at the track overall (six).
• Donny Schatz, Kyle Larson, and others have had strong runs, but no prior three-peat in consecutive WoO features.
Among the all-time greats:
• Steve Kinser (“The King”) — 690 WoO wins. He owned tracks for years with long streaks and repeated dominations.
• Sammy Swindell — 394 wins. Blistering speed and multiple track takeovers.
• Donny Schatz — 317 wins and 10 titles. Master of consistency with plenty of hot streaks.
• Three consecutive wins at one track is impressive, but legends like Kinser and Swindell had even longer personal hot streaks and season-long dominations.
Kofoid’s feat is special because it’s a true “first” at a tough, competitive bullring like I-55, at a young age, while climbing the wins list. It’s the kind of performance that builds toward legendary status — especially if the momentum keeps rolling. A step further, are we seeing a future Hall of Fame’r lay his path in real time?
